Bio

Hello everyone. My name is Oliver Garcia and this is my fourth semester here at Phoenix College. I am very excited to be a part of S-STEM this semester once again. It is my second semester of S-STEM so I have to get myself adapted to the schedule and times I need to be here but that should be simple to do since i already had planned for a time to be able to work on the internship. A little bit about myself: I was born here in Phoenix, Arizona in 1996. I have lived here all my life but have visited California and Virginia and hope to visit other places as I get older. I went to Mexico when I was 2 years old but I don't remember much of it and I haven't gone since then. I am the smallest  of three brothers in a family of five including both my parents.I graduated from Metro Tech High School and was in the Pharmacy program where my interest in science and health grew much more. This is because we also got to volunteer at the hospitals and so I had that experience interacting with patients and nurses. I also felt how the atmosphere is like at a hospital. I am still unsure of what I would like to do as a career. However, by being in this program it has given me a different experience and knowledge that I will be able to take with me to be successful in my career and may want to continue doing research as I will be working with the Pseudomonas Project team this semester and researching for Pseudomonas on the campus' water. Thank you to all who has made this possible and I'm excited to working and seeing you all around.
